Description
The Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (“ADR”) applies to EU member states and a significant number of other signatory countries around the world. ADR 2027 applies from 1 January 2027, although there is a 6 month transitional period until full implementation.
ADR 2027 Amendments
The ADR 2027 edition introduces an extensive range of amendments designed to support the safe international carriage of dangerous goods by road. This latest edition includes updates to classification provisions, new and revised UN entries, amendments affecting lithium-ion, lithium metal and sodium-ion batteries, changes to packaging requirements, pressure receptacles, tanks, vehicles, dangerous goods documentation, training requirements and transitional provisions. The new regulations continue the ongoing development of ADR to reflect changes in technology, transport operations and international best practice. Draft amendments for entry into force on 1 January 2027 have been adopted through the UNECE ADR working process.
