We’re sometimes asked if the Antistatic properties of the HAZTEC®garments are also Inherent. In our garments the Antistatic (AS) properties are achieved by the use of a yarn so are always present whether the Flame Resistant (FR) properties of the fabric is FR because of a chemical treatment or FR because of the use of Inherent Modacrylic or other fibres such as Aramid.
There are requirements regarding the maximum size of logos that can be used on Flame Resistant Clothing. Any logo that is produced with non-FR threads should be a maximum of 10 sq. cm’s per logo. We recommend discussing your branding with our technical sales team.
We moved from the traditional YKK Brass Zippers to the YKK Plastic Spiral Zippers based on customer feedback.
Metal zippers can tend to become dry after the laundry process and are not then generally lubricated by the wearers, resulting in breakages. On the contrast, the Plastic Spiral Zipper maintains it’s free-flow characteristics and has demonstrated itself to be more reliable even after laundry.
We always use branded zippers in HAZTEC and ORKA garments from YKK or Kroko to eliminate product failure from the use of poor components.
There are 2 types of ‘Plastic’ Zipper we use currently in HAZTEC or ORKA garments.
The YKK Plastic Spiral Zipper – this is used in many of the ORKA Coveralls. Durable and reliable even after laundry, this zipper has become popular in the industry. The zip pull on this zipper is Metal.
The KROKO Plastic Zippers – these zippers are mainly used in HAZTEC Garments. We have either a FR or Non-FR version (both look the same to the naked eye). KROKO supply zippers into the military, and these zippers are very strong, with the FR version featuring 6.6 Nylon. The zip pull on this zipper is also Plastic.
