Is this 96 drum 24 IBC bunded storage unit suitable for my site?
This configuration is particularly suited to larger chemical manufacturing, fuel, process, logistics and industrial sites where significant volumes of drums or IBCs need to be stored within one controlled containment area.
It may also suit organisations looking to consolidate several smaller storage areas into a larger centralised solution or standardise hazardous liquid storage across a major operational site.
Before specifying the unit, consider:
- current and future storage volumes
- the mix of drums and IBCs
- the substances being stored
- required containment capacity
- loading and unloading access
- site layout and installation space
- security requirements
- fire protection or environmental requirements
Hazchem Safety can provide site survey, review and specification advice where required.
Compliance and guidance
The unit is designed to support compliant storage arrangements for drums and IBCs. Suitability should be confirmed against the substances being stored, the site risk assessment and applicable environmental and HSE guidance.
HSG51 guidance advice is available where relevant to the storage of flammable liquids. For further information, refer to the HSE’s guidance on the storage of flammable liquids and Hazchem Safety’s Bunded Storage: Legal Requirements and 110% Bunding Rules Explained.
